ABOUT OUR STAFF
Ms. Katie started gymnastics at the age of 5. Her childhood was spent inside the gym and she loved it! She retired from competitive gymnastics in high school and began cheerleading. She is a graduate of Boone County High School and has a BS in Science from Northern Kentucky University.
Ms. Katie began teaching gymnastics in 2004. She came to MJM Studios in 2008 and helped developed the Tumbling and Tumble Bug programs into what they are today.
Before becoming the owner of MJM Studios she was a program director under Mary Jo for 8 years.
She is married to Jonathan and they have 3 great kids.

Mary Jo Menning began teaching dance at age 20 after receiving her teaching certificate from Dance Masters of Chicago. She has taught all genres of dance and acrobatics, tumbling, and trampoline. After studying dance in Chicago, New York, Ohio, Kentucky and dancing professionally in Ohio, she opened her studio in 1993 and was the president of MJM Studios Inc. for 27 years. Ms Mary Jo has her teaching certificate from Dance Masters of America Teacher Training School in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern. She also has her teaching certificate in Ballet and Tap from Dance Educators of America where she is a life long member. She is a former member of USA Gymnastics and the Leap N’ Learn Program. Currently, Ms Mary Jo is the Dance Director at MJM Studios where she continues to encourage children that learning is fun. Some of her former students have gone on to dance professionally in New York, Disney World, Universal Studios, Atlanta, Kansas and on cruise ships. Ms Mary Jo enjoys most of her time outside of the studio playing with her 6 grandchildren and traveling.

Tiffany Rusch has been teaching at MJM Studios for 6 years. She teaches all levels of tumbling and dance along with coaching the competitive dance team. Ms. Tiffany earned her BFA with a dance major at Northern Kentucky University. After college she began her career in Cincinnati with Exhale Dance Tribe, a nonprofit dance company. She trained and performed with Exhale for 5 years. She then set sail with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line as a dancer, aerialist, and tumbler. During her training with RCCL, she studied ballroom and aerial acrobatics. Ms Tiffany has also has appeared in Cincinnati Ballet’s Nutcracker for 3 years and ESPN2 in Disney’s Opening Number Parade. Beyond performing, she has taught at many other studios in the area but she is so glad she has found a home at MJM Studios. She is excited to share her knowledge with all the dancers and athletes at MJM. Ms. Tiffany believes to her core that teaching dance to these students is the best gig she’s ever booked.

Valarie Menning graduated from NKU with a degree in recreational fitness. Although she started the Trampoline and Tumbling Team in 2008, Ms Val has been working at MJM since she was just 12 years old. Now, as a busy mom of three boys and the director of the Trampoline and Tumbling program, she has coached ahletes from levels 1 all the way through Senior Elite. Ms Val has had athletes compete for Team USA in Portugal, Denmark, and Italy. Not only did she have an athlete competing in Italy representing the United States but Ms Val was also one of the trampoline coaches for Team USA! Coaching trampoline and tumbling is her passion and Ms Val loves to watch her athletes grow and share the same passion.

Jessica Foote began as a student of MJM in 1999 and became an assistant instructor in 2006. In 2015, she graduated from NKU with a bachelorʼs in Athletic Training and a minor in Dance. After graduation she moved to Orlando, FL where she worked as a performer and an Athletic Trainer for the local theme parks. During this time she also toured the country as a dancer with Sesame Street Live. Currently, Ms. Jessica works as an Athletic Trainer for Premier Physical Therapy and a dance and tumbling instructor for all levels here at MJM Studios! Ms. Jessica loves to share her knowledge of injury prevention and management with her students to help them better understand how to protect themselves while training in this amazing art form. She cannot wait to begin another new and exciting season here with MJM Studios!

Marissa Chalk is in her second year at MJM Studios and has been loving every minute of it! Ms Marissa teaches all levels of tumbling and teaches a few dance classes as well. Prior to being at MJM, she coached recreational and competitive gymnastics at an artistic gym for 5 years, and was also the Program Director for a short time. She has participated in recreational dance and tumbling from age 2 up until graduating high school in 2015. Ms Marissa also participated in competitive cheerleading in middle school and high school. And was part of Thomas More University’s competitive cheer program for the 2015-16 season. In 2012,
Ms Marissa was diagnosed with a rare, genetic, connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS-III). EDS has greatly impacted her ability to participate in the sports she grew up in. While this diagnosis may have brought an early end to her athletic career, it’s blessed her with the opportunity to bring awareness to a disease that has an impact on the dance, cheer, and gymnastics communities. Dance and gymnastics have always been such a huge part of her life. Ms Marissa is very thankful to share her love for the sports through teaching!

Katie Vogt has been at MJM since day one! She is the oldest daughter of Ms Mary Jo and has danced from the ages of 3-18 years old. When MJM began in 1993, she worked as a dance assistant several days per week throughout high school. In 1997, Ms Katie moved to Florida and attended Ringling College of Art and Design and in 2001, earned her BFA in Illustration. She then lived and worked in Michigan for a handful of years before returning to Kentucky. Ms Katie helped out in dance rooms when needed and spent 3 years teaching Art for grades K-8 at St. Paul School in Florence. In 2010, she left everything job related behind to work at MJM as a designer and part time dance teacher. Ms Katie is responsible for the MJM brand, logo, website, wall murals, social media sites, t-shirt designs, and almost anything that comes home on paper from the studio. You can also catch her at the front desk a few times per week as well as in the dance room once a week. She is also MEGA EXCITED to be offering art classes at MJM! Ms Katie’s two youngest daughters now dance and tumble at the studio. It’s definitely a family business and something that she hopes to have in her life, as well as her kids’ lives, always.
Julie Kubala joined MJM Studios in 2013 part time working the front desk, after co-owning a business for many years. Now Ms Julie is not only our full time office manager but a LEGENDARY popcorn maker! Ms Julie loves being at the studio and interacting with all of the families... she's a true people person. For her, it is truly a gift to watch these amazing kids blossom into tumblers and dancers. When she is not at the studio, you can usually find her visiting with her three grown children. Her twin daughters (former MJM dancers) are at WKU and her son who just recently moved to Lexington. MJM is Ms Julie's home away from home.
